Hi guys, I have a book about experience and education to recommend to you. It's Experience and Education writen by John Dewey.

This book is really small but do give me a kind of magic feelings that someone speak out what I already know and also solve my confusion and correct my prejudice.

As a science student in high school, I know little about philosophy. All things I have ever observed are accumulated to be my experience. When I commented on education and how to improve it, I will express opinion my based on it. But when I opened this book and read the first chapter, I found at once the mistake I made before—I talked on the basis of rejection, of sheer opposition.

I feel it magic that all the professors in this term began to tell us what we need is a capability in using what we have learned before. And in this book, a chief principle tells this necessity well:

“We have the problem of ascertaining how acquaintance with the past may be translated into a potent instrumentality for dealing effectively with the future.”

When we are divided into several groups to do research, we began to use the theories and methodologies we studied in past two years. Do research and think with supporting from real theories can make sure our logics and the reliability of the research. Like when we were asked to think the changes in the lapdog journalism, we did not answer the question at once but think about answering the question from which perceptions. And then, we use the communication theory “5 W” to discuss the changes in the whole process in the communication. Get training in improve our capability in continuity help me to think and discuss more clearly than before. This is also a problem that is new in the story of education: How shall the young become acquainted with the past in such a way that the acquaintance is a potent agent in appreciation of the living present?
